FIRST: You MUST accept your situation.
Over the years, hundreds of women who endured assaults told me their stories. The common thread was they couldn’t believe it was real. They felt like they were in a dream state. They froze, not knowing what to do. They are survivors, that is great, that is priority one. They all told me though, after experiencing training that they would have handled things differently if they were exposed to skills back then.
Imagine God building us, caring about us, but knowing it’s possible that we could be met with a dangerous threat. Wouldn’t He want to program in a physical response to help us through? Well, He did. He supercharged us with an internal lightning bolt that we can run with if able to fully escape, or if can’t yet run, the ability to tap our maximum strength to counter attack. I believe He wants us to take action (when the time is right, normally immediately).
SECOND: Take Action (Hopefully with training to better apply that action)
The trigger for the release of this incredible energy is FEAR. If scared and don’t move we tremble, if we move aggressively the fear is released. Haven’t you had your hands shake, that is adrenaline not being applied. Allow the gift of fear, that feeling, to be the prompt that moves you into action. You are enhanced physically. The mental and emotional side should be a pre-decided commitment that when you feel the surge of fear, to run or attack (sometimes we must build the opportunity to run, by damaging him and shutting down his ability to restrain us). You channel the fear by releasing your training, focus on the moment you are in, managing that moment and the next as the moments unfold. You then must escape. Obviously, the threat is real and substantial, meaning true harm is possible, or we wouldn’t be scared. Apply your training to defend yourself, deflecting strikes etc and seeking to damage him, building that chance to make it to safety.
